August 4th turns out to be the saddest day in memory, as I just learned that my magnificient friend , Linda, had passed away 7 months ago! Linda was such an upbeat, gracious, funny person. It was an honor to know her at SBU and to have stayed loosely in touch. Whenever we would talk or when I met her on Cape Cod or at school, we would pick up the conversation where we had left it last. Just a warm, caring person was Linda Jewett! If she couldn't stay with us, our Heavenly Father has a nifty Chief of Staff! What happened that she left us too soon? My God watch over her lovingly.

Jimmy, My best to you and to all who mourn the loss of Linda. Our lives went in different directions as we grew up, but I loved her as a dear childhood friend. A while ago, we spoke of getting together for lunch, but, sadly, we never firmed up the date and death rudely interrupted the plan. I ask myself why I did not make all the so many possible attempts to reconnect with Linda as we got older? For me, it's a case of "woulda, coulda, shoulda." I'm so very sorry that Linda has died. My condolences, Jimmy, and all the Finucanes (I remember Rosemary), and all family, friends, co-workers (most especially Pat Scholz of Hunt Real Estate), parishioners of OLC (especially Saint Ambrose worship site), neighbors and all those she left (too soon!) behind. To the family and friends of Linda - I am grieving with you at the loss of Linda. When I was a freshman at St. Bonaventure, she "lived" two rooms down and took me under her wing. I will ALWAYS remember her kindness and that of her roommate Andrea Mountain in helping an odd duck feel welcome. I greatly admired her and wanted to be like her - that glamorous upper classman who exuded intelligence and confidence. I had always hoped we could re-connect one day. May she lead the cheering in heaven for the Bonnies as they enter the NCAA tournament. May the good Lord comfort you during this sad time. Sue
