John Sharkey..I first met you 12 years ago doing collections, you left and came back. Working with you was a blast! There was never a dull moment at the office when you were there. Between our Canada vs USA hockey talks, going to Artpark to see a cheesy 80s band, and to you helping a friend of mine, you were a great guy. You will be missed by everyone. A: I use to work with him years ago at the time I had no vehicle and I lived in Lovejoy he lived in south Buffalo he would get me every morning for work and never once took any of my offerings or asked me for anything in return just a pure heart of gold!!!

John was the first person I walked up to at our union hall when I joined Local 3. When I was looking for guidance and someone to ease my nervousness in starting over in life, John was there with a smile and a joke. We talked about how he also was over 40, and up for the challenge in starting a new career in the masonry field. He coached me through some difficult times over the last year and made me feel that I was doing the right thing. I didn't know him for long but I plan to pass on his kindness to future apprentices and I am forever grateful for my time with him. Thank you John
