My sincere condolences to Shirley and the family. I have known Pooch for as long as I can remember. I will always remember the horseshoe games at the annual Spencer reunion including the first reunion when as partners we won the first contest so many years ago. I pray that you are now playing with your brothers in a better place. May he rest in the palm of the Lord.

Shirley, my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Poochie will always be remembered, by me, as my father's partner in crime. You never could sit those two together without hearing laughter and wondering what they were up to. Poochie had such a great sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. That is how I will remember him. Sending lots of love and prayers ❤️ Susan Kuerzdoerfer

You can see his reflection in the glass. An old man looking back at his younger self.
Fran and Shirley moved in next door to my grandparents in 1980 and they became the best of friends. To this day, they still reside next door to this next generation of Pacers.
The two of them recently celebrated over 60 years of marriage and their 90 and 93rd birthdays.
Fran was there to help my grandma Alice after grandpa Henry passed away. He never hesitated to take care of her lawn, clean the gutters, help with the trash bins. There is a hilarious photo forever etched in time of him on his riding lawnmower staring down the barrel of the futuristic Google Streetview camera back in 2008.
Fran fought a tireless battle with cancer over the last several years. You wouldn't know it if you saw him scale a ladder or fire up his snowblower just a few short weeks ago. He was a fighter.
Fran passed away early this morning in the comfort of Hospice care.
Though he will never see this- I wanted to share my appreciation for this man and thank him for the many wonderful memories he shared with my family, his service to our country and the friendship we had.
Rest in Peace, Fran.
