What can i say about my “bestest friend”
The one that radiated such a warm smile and light, embodying the spirit of an earth mother to all our children. Her departure leaves a sadness that runs incredibly deep. Yet I can only believe she was called for a greater purpose beyond what we can see. I know she will be profoundly missed from Hanford and the circle of friends, where her light shined so bright.

I went to high school with Mary and Brian, although we didn’t stay in touch except for reunions and way to few get togethers, I always thought our class had a special friendship. Brian and family I’m so sorry for your loss. My you rest in peace my friend.

I was saddened to learn of Mary’s passing. We met at Baker Victory High School and were neighbors in Blasdell in the early 90s. Very kind and warm person. Always a smile. My condolences to Brian and the Walsh / Smith families during this very difficult time. RIP Mary.

Mary was a wonderful, steady resource at school; she always had her students' best interests at heart. She was a truly lovely human being who treasured her family. Her laugh always made me smile. You will be missed, my friend.

Mary and I started as neighbors and quickly became best friends. We shared many wonderful moments, and I will cherish them forever. She was my dedicated walking partner, and we talked about everything during our 2 to 3-mile walks—from health and life in general to her beautiful grandchildren, and more. When it came to bingo, it was hilarious that I always won while she didn’t! We would split our winnings, so Brian always made a point to wish me luck! I don’t think I know anyone as strong as Mary. She maintained a positive attitude about everything, even during her fight for life. I will miss my dear friend every day. Brian, Pat, and Shalynn, know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Such a wonderful person. As kids she would have us over to play with Shay. She was always so nice and caring when we kids were playing with Shay. As I grew older she always made sure to chat with me every summer to see how things were going and she always seemed to remember what I told her the previous year. I will greatly miss catching up on the beach with her each summer. Just such a caring and compassionate person who is gone to soon.

While I never met Mary personally, I could tell you a few stories about her sister Cheryl. I was so delighted that the three girls had some time recently together in Florida. It meant so much to Cheryl.
I am so very sorry for your family’s loss. Cheryl is one of my favorite people in the world. The strength and support that both she and Coleen have shown for Mary has been truly amazing . It is a testament of their love and compassion for their beloved sister. As a believer in Christ, Mary is with her Heavenly Father. May she now rest in His divine peace.

Q: What will you miss most about Mary?
A: I will miss Mary's sweet disposition and beautiful smile. As my first cousin we were very close growing up. Mary was my junior bridesmaid in my wedding, I was her Confirmation sponsor and also did a reading at her wedding. I am very thankful that Mary and I had a long telephone conversation several weeks before she passed. She was so positive and upbeat and believed that she would be selected for a cancer trial to beat that terrible disease.
Rest in peace sweet Mary. I love you.
