Pauline Marie DeCarolis, age 89, a beloved Catholic school teacher and cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family. Born on October 18, 1935 in Buffalo, NY , Pauline dedicated her life to faith, family, and education. A devout Catholic, she spent decades shaping young minds in the classroom, teaching with a gentle strength and unwavering commitment at various South Buffalo grammar schools. Her deep love for her students and her vocation was evident in every lesson she taught and every prayer she offered. She is survived by her devoted son, Jamie, her loving daughter-in-law, Julie, and two adoring grandchildren, Patrick and Samantha, who brought her immense pride and joy. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled in her family and the countless lives she touched throughout her teaching career. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Marie (Schwab) DeCarolis, sister of Sandra (Lynn) Frazey, Derrylin “Lynn” (John “Jack”) Kane, and the late Arline (late Francis) Mack, the late Phyllis (late Albert) Blundy and the late Audrey (late Richard) Frederick. Also survived by beloved nieces Cheryl (Daryl) Woodman, Laurie (Mike) Needham, Shelly Kaiser, Lisa (Owen “Pat”) Devine, Amy (John) Piniewski and Sharon (David) Wickwire and nephews Greg (Linda) Blundy, Gary (Nancy) Mack, Paul (Carol) Frazey and Jeff (Sara) Kane. Family and friends meant everything to Pauline. Her dear friends that became family at Seneca Woods brought such light to her life as well as numerous lifelong cherished friends. Pauline will be remembered for her wisdom, her kindness, and her steady faith. She was a woman of grace, who found joy in simplicity and strength in prayer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 14 Holy Helpers RC Church, 1345 Indian Church Road, West Seneca, NY 14224 on May 28, 2025 at 10am. Please assemble at the church. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday May 28th at 10:00AM at 14Holy Helpers Church in West Seneca, NY. Please assemble at church. No prior visitations
