Obituary of Steven J. Peet

Steven grew up in West Seneca, New York and attended West Seneca West High School. He furthered his education at Hilbert College with a degree in Criminal Justice. In April 2007, he became the proud father of Isabella Rayanne. He began his law enforcement career as a civilian officer with the Department of Navy, at the Norfolk, Va. Navy base and returned to Buffalo to work as a Customs and Border Protection Officer with the Department of Homeland Security. Steve was later promoted to Supervisor, the position he held at the time of his death. Steve spent his free time enjoying board games, reading, golfing and traveling. His most beloved place to visit was Eagle Beach, Aruba. He had a love of Stars Wars and Harry Potter. Most importantly, Steve loved spending time with his friends and family and relaxing with his three beloved cats. Passed away on October 18, 2023, after a brief illness. Dear father of Isabella, loving companion and life partner of Megan Stanbro, beloved son of Leslie (Sullivan) Peet and the late Dr. Robert S. Peet, brother of Scott Andrew Peet, uncle of Ozzy, nephew of Doug (Donna) Peet, Russell (Liza) Peet, Peggy (Roger) Hamm, Shiela (Bill Reilly) Sullivan, Michael Sullivan and Cari Sullivan, dearest friend of Amy (Mark) Miller, also survived by his three “fur babies”. Friends and family may call on Monday from 3-7:00pm at the JAMES W. CANNAN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 3155 Orchard Park Road in Orchard Park, NY where a brief Funeral Service will start at 6:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Erie County S.P.C.A., Wounded Warriors and/or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Steven proudly served as a Supervisory C.B.P. Officer with the Dept. of Homeland Security.
