McMAHON - James Passed away on 8-1- 2023, beloved husband of Mary Frances (Hietanen) McMahon, dear father of Elizabeth (Brian) Muhs and Christina (Sean) Donnelly, loving grandfather of Gabrielle, Catherine and Grace, son of the late James E. and Elizabeth I. (Streissel) McMahon. Friends and family may call Sunday from 3:00- 7:00pm at the JAMES W. CANNAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3155 Orchard Park Road in Orchard Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:30am at St. Martin of Tours Church, (please assemble at church). The Burial will follow the Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Wounded Warriors Project. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, James spent many of his early years at Sunset Bay where his family had a summer cottage. He served in the US Navy for four years spending most of his time aboard the USS Constellation. James was also a NYS Corrections Officer for many years retiring in 2015. A dedicated family man, whenever he wasn't helping others his favorite pastime was spending time with his grandkids. Online register book and obituary at www.CANNANFH.com
