Only a few times in ones lifetime do you meet someone who makes such a profound and lasting impression on who and what you become. Vince was that someone for me. Not only as a teacher but someone who lead by example of how one should live their life. Vince's command of jazz and classical guitar was most evident but it was his wisdom and emphasis on the importance of family that effected me the most. He would tell me your true measure of success is visible by the wealth that surrounds you and that is called family. "And don't forget that" he would say. To reach the age of a 104 is certainly a milestone very few if any of us will ever achieve yet Vince remained humble and would say "hey it's only a number".
Vince, thank you for being such a gentleman, master musician, extraordinary teacher, but most importantly such a great and wonderful friend.
