I was so sad to hear of the passing of Wendy. Actually, Mrs Korbel (yes, still alive and sharp as a tack) told me it was in the paper.
Hearing the name of anyone who was associated with my life on South Hedley Street brings back fond memories. Wendy was the little kid we never really spent time with, but I remember your family so well.
Mitzi borrowing my 45 "Never My Love" so she could send the recording to her boyfriend in Vietnam (she also pierced my ears with a needle and a potato) , Elaine's bedroom upstairs that I always thought was so cool (and always admired how neat your school books were from Resurrection), your Mother's laugh and your father taking us to where he worked off Clinton to see the amusement rides they were making. Maybe my memory is incorrect, but I remember sitting in your pool before it was completely installed, but the walls were up. A bunch of us were talking about the racial riots that were happening (not sure if they were in Buffalo), but being scared that they were going to walk down our street. Weird what you remember.
I felt very sad to hear of the loss of Wendy. I know she had challenges after her high fever as a child and often wondered if she stayed in Buffalo. She is so young to pass. I hope she had time to enjoy her grandchildren and find some contentment in her later years.
My sincere condolences go out to the whole family.
