Dearest Shirley,
So saddened by the loss of,the love of your life, your strength, your best friend. Steve was such an example of strength and endurance. We couldn't believe his fight to keep going to the gym! We will miss him always at your side. If we saw you, Steve wasn't far behind.

Dearest Shirley and Family,
So saddened to read Steve's Tribute in the paper late yesterday. Now all the stores are closed and I cannot bring to you your 12 bottles of "strength" as you and Joan brought to me. I am crushed that I leave tomorrow for an 11 day trip to Prescott, AZ to help my sister move into their new home and cannot be here to support you in these next difficult days. I assume you have many family members, and Joan, around you. I return the 15th and hope to be able to participate in the Celebration
you are planning for our Angel, Steve. All our Angels, Paul, Gary and Steve are now together. You MUST take comfort in the fact that Steve's suffering is over. Your grief will seem endless, but I promise you, Shirley, your strength will amaze you.
My love to you along with my heartfelt sympathy.

Dear Shirley,
As you know, I have known him for 50 years since our college days back at SUNY @ Buffalo in 1968. We and you soon after that had so many wonderful days through the years. Our close group of friends back then, Tom, Bill, Howie, Peter, you, and several more did pretty much everything together. Following college we all got married and many of us moved to greater distances from each other but we always stayed in contact from a far including the time you and Steve just by chance happened to run into us and my kids in Disney World when my kids were fairly young or on the occasions when we got together for other events. I still remember Steve chasing Emileigh around the yard trying to catch her which she loved as a little girl or the time we all got together at my house on Grand Island for the pool party in my back yard. We enjoyed so many great times together over time and we will all do that again sometime in the future. Now Steve can hook up with Peter who is also no longer with us as well to guide us and watch over us through our remaining years until we are all together again. I am going to miss my friend who was taken from us much too soon but I do know he will be working out in the Kingdom of Heaven staying in shape as he did when he was here with us. RIP my dear friend. Your pain is over. Shirley there are no words I can offer that will ease the pain for those that remain here for his passing but Shirley please take solace knowing I am and we all are here to try to help you in this difficult time.
With all our love,
Les and Kathy Scripa

Dear Shirley,
We were deeply saddened to hear of Steve's passing. he taught me much and was an inspiration for me to enter the nursing profession. His compassionate and loving care he exhibited to his patients was not just a professional demeanor but was the essence of the man he truly was. He treated everyone as equals and had kind words for all. His sense of humor made an often difficult job easy to bear and although I have not been fortunate to see him lately, I will miss him greatly. I am honored to call him a mentor, a role model and most importantly, a friend.
Know that he is in our thoughts and prayers as we extend our deepest condolences,
Dennis & Joanne Lindell
