Andrew's big wave and smile made me turn around and come back to have lunch with him and Lenny on Wednesday and I am so glad I got to do that and hear again how proud he was to be Brendan's Dad and of our organization and all of the doctors and researchers. Every email, conversation or FB post with Andrew was uplifting as he saw the best in everyone.
I have no words to comfort his family- only that his legacy of kindness, living a life of purpose and exuding positive energy will live with everyone who knew him.
We his Roswell family will always feel the void and be here to support his family in any way we can.
Sincerely
Renuka Iyer, MD

We only knew Andy a short time - April and I really enjoyed spending some time with him after last years 11 day power play game. He was a great, amazing person and truly an inspiration. We will all miss him.

My deepest condolences to Andrews family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and may God's divine grace comfort you each and everyday.
Andy was my friend at work as well as outside of work. I met Andy 16 years ago at RP and shortly after we ran into each other at the gym. From that day forward our friendship grew into a close and comfortable friendship.
All our conversations were always positive, upbeat and of course funny. There was never a time we didn't end a conversation without a laugh.
To my dear friend Andy; I will miss your smile, your positive outlook, and of course our hardy laughs.

My deepest condolences to the family.
I met Andrew at Roswell Park over 10 years ago and he was always kind and upbeat. I would see him at the gym on occasion and we laughed about the atmosphere...how people would look at themselves in the mirror and how people would socialize instead of working out. He would always come by to say hi to us when he was on our floor for a meeting. He was always smiling and was a really nice person.
I thank God for His comfort, strength and peace during this incredibly painful time. You are not alone because God is close to the broken-hearted. Rest in Him and He will get you through this one step...one day at a time.
God Bless,
Jennifer

I met Andrew in the 1990's when he first started treatment in the OP Chemotherapy Clinic and then later when he became employed at Roswell. He always remained a kind and positive individual willing to give to others. His survivorship served as example to many others, who hoped for the same. My condolences to the family.

Andy was truly one of the sweetest guys you could ever meet. No matter how tough things get, he would always make us smile, and remember why we do what we do. He loved Roswell and Roswell loved him. He will be sorely missed by all of his Roswell family.
You have my deepest condolences, as he was a lovely person.

Christa, Brendan and Andy’s family,
I met Andy 15 years ago when I began working at Roswell.
Myself and another coworker from the BMT team use to have lunch with him. He told us of his diagnosis, treatment and BMT experience. Some parts he joked of his experience but never once was he angry about his cancer.
That story he would go on to share with many other cancer patients. I’m sure as a 19 year old with cancer no one would have ever known what an impact he would make in the world, especially to other cancer patients. He left an impression with everyone he met, always with a smile or joke.
That smile only grew bigger when he spoke of Christa and Brendan.
I can honestly say I have never met a nicer or more genuine person.
My deepest sympathies.

God of love and mercy, embrace Christa, and Brendan and Baby, Andy's family, and dear friends, whose hearts today overflow with grief, unanswered questions
and such a sense of loss. Grant them space to express their tears.
Hold them close through the coming days and always. Give us the strength to walk this journey with them and never let them feel alone. Ignite in all of us the greatness that was in Andy and help us to carry on his way of joy, compassion and courage for others.
Our love and constant prayer for you, Carolyn & Jeffrey Domster
