Obituary of Mgsr. Kevin T. O'Neill

Msgr. Kevin T. O’Neill, born July 16, 1935 in Buffalo, New York. He was ordained a Catholic priest in 1961 and served for just shy of 60 years. He leaves behind 9 nieces and nephews, 17 grand nieces and nephews and 11 great grand nieces and nephews. Msgr. O’Neill served in Western New York as pastor of Sacred Heart in Angelica, Sacred Heart in Friendship, and St. Peter and Paul’s in Arcade. Msgr. served his longest assignment, as pastor of Immaculate Conception in East Aurora for 23 years. He had a great love of working with children at all his parishes and had many fond memories of coaching basketball, and 8 th grade field trips. After his retirement, he continued to serve as an Administrator at Mary Queen of Angels, in Cheektowaga and St. John XXIII in West Seneca. He received an Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2015 Dioceses Catholic education dinner. Msgr. was also inducted into the John Timon Society in recognition of his many years support of Bishop Timon High School. Visitation Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the JAMES W. CANNAN FUNERAL HOME, INC. (Southtowns Chapel), 3155 Orchard Park Rd. Visitation Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Immaculate Conception Church, 520 Oakwood Ave., East Aurora, NY 14052. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Charity Parish (Holy Family Worship Site). In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Immaculate Conception School and/or Bishop Timon St. Jude High School. Msgr. O’Neill was the former pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church for 23 years.
