Dear Margaret,
I am so sorry for your lost, We always considered Jim as our true friend. He was the most wonderful person we knew. If he could help anyone, he would do it. If he couldn't he would tell you so. That is what made him a great person and a honest man. There isn't too many people in the world like Jim. Fred and I will always keep him in our prayers. I am sorry I didn't attend his wake, as you know my health isn't the greatest. I will always remember Jim.

The thoughts and prayers of the Furtney Family go out to Margaret, your children, grandchildren and extended family.
I had the privilege to work with Jim in the Gorski Administration from 1988-1999, the last five years of which I directly reported to Jim.
Jim encouraged me in my work, and assigned me projects that truly pushed me to learn new skills and be my best. He truly mentored countless public servants.
His wonderful talent for Irish storytelling is something I will never forget.

Margaret and family,
I had the pleasure of knowing Jim through his and other campaigns. He was a man of honor who gave so much to the public in so many ways. He was also a real gentleman with a smile on his face and a good word for all. It is rare in political life that one can be beloved by so many but Jim was. It is trite to say that he will be missed but he really will be missed. I would visit you personally but am out of town.
