To the Family
Mary always greeted people with an open heart and a genuine concern for their well being. I remember her generous spirit and willingness to share her Irish heritage. She was a fantastic businesswoman, an incredible strategic planner and a visionary for building on the past successes of the Buffalo Irish Center. How fitting that she entered eternal life as the Mass for the Buffalo Irish Festival began. May we all carry her passion for positivity forward.

Whenever we arrived to play at the Irish Center, going in to see Mary was like visiting your auntie. You’d get such a warm welcome and everything would be easy and taken care of. Mary will be missed big time and her presence will be in the building as long as it’s there. May she rest in peace.

Our family was sorry to hear the news. It was always a pleasure and honor talking to Mrs. Heneghan when home from Virginia. Whether it was at the gift shop or at a Feis she was always knowledgeable, poised, and kind.

Mary joined the LAOH in 2017, the year we had our State Convention. I had known Mary for years of coming to the Center, but after joining our group, I would consider her a friend. She gave me fund raising advice and attended all our meetings and luncheons. Was a wonderful support to me and I appreciated her so much. I am happy she was able to attend the 50+1 affair that was so successful. Sorry I could not attend the wake because I had a hip replacement on Wednesday. I was with our group in spirit and will be at mass tomorrow. Blessings to you and your family, Kathleen mcLuckie, LAOH

Deepest sympathy to the Heneghan & Breen Families on the passing of Mary. We have known this beautiful and wonderful person for over fifty years and it is with great sadness we learn of her passing. While Mary was first generation American her heart was always in Ireland. We will miss her laughter and stories during her many trips to Ireland and I know that she and Tom are once again reunited in Heaven.

Met your mom last year at a pledge drive for WNED-TV. Discovered that she knew my Uncle Mike McGillicuddy. Talked about our Irish heritage...your trips to County Mayo. My prayers and thoughts go out to your family. Maura McGillicuddy
