Obituary of Kevin J. McDonnell

Kevin J. McDonnell, age 83, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. Kevin was the son of the late Abbie (Murphy) and Chris McDonnell. He is survived by his wife Marguerite (Reilly) and four children, Lynn, Jean Anne (Garry Preece), Thomas P. (Maureen) and Meghan (Peter) Calamari. Kevin was an amazing grandfather to nine grandchildren, Connor (Jackie), Thomas, Nate, Catherine, Luke, Christian, Holly, Isabelle and Charlotte. He was also a loving friend, brother-in-law, and uncle to so many. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Anne (Joe) Tramontana and Chris McDonnell. Kevin was raised in South Buffalo, graduated from Bishop Timon High School and The University at Buffalo, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Fulton. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 30th from 3:00 - 8:00 pm at James W. Cannan Funeral Home, 3155 Orchard Park Road, Orchard Park, NY 14127. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dog Ears Bookstore/The Enlightenment Literary Arts Center or S.M.A.R.T. (Spinal Muscular Atrophy Research Team). A mass and celebration of Kevin’s life will be held in May 2023 – stay tuned!
