It is hard to learn of Patrick's passing and I find my thoughts circling back to the family he so dearly loved often over this past week. Patrick and I were close friends during the 1999/2000 tour of Annie. I spent many miles beside him in that dog van, was with him when he lost Nugget thereby witnessing the profound love he had for his dogs and shared many a laugh (quite possibly the range of human emotion!) with him that memorable year. There is a special place in my heart for Patrick and that year we spent together touring the country with our cast. It's hard to learn someone so young and, in my memory so full of life... is gone. Sending my deepest condolescences and the hope that the light of his memory is somehow comforting in the darkness of his loss. Wishing you peace and strength, Julie

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Pat. One of my most memorable summers of my life came when Pat and I worked at Miracle Strip Amusement Park in Panama City, FL. We spent that summer bonding over Buffalo, theatre and making some very wonderful friendships. He and his dog, Nougat, were inseparable. To this day it was one of the best times of my life, and Pat was a huge part of it. Love to his family and friends.

I am so saddened to hear of Pat's passing. During our years at NU and after, Pat always put a smile on my face and will continue to do so whenever I think about him. What I will always remember about Pat, perhaps even more than his infectious smile, was his huge heart -- his tremendous kindness, generosity, and compassion as an acting partner and friend -- He made this world a better place. Dear Pettys Family,
Pat was a dear friend who had a heart of gold. He was one of my closest friends in our teenage years. Though we saw each other very seldom as we got older it was always a great joy every time we connected. I will never forget Pat and the kindness he brought. There wasn't a person who could make me laugh harder then Pat.
He will be deeply missed but he will always be in my thoughts and prays.

I met Pat in 1991. He was something of an idol, and quickly became a dear friend for years and years. I shared travels and performances and apartments with him. My history, my life, the essence of who I am was shaped in part by and definitely in concert with him. A quarter of a century and more later, I am devastated. But grateful, because I know that grief this strong can only come from a love just as powerful. My heartfelt love and condolences to the entire Pettys extended family. Godspeed, old friend.

Patrick was my dearest friend and I will forever treasure the moments we shared. Always laughing, smiling and joyful he brightened any room he entered. He went out of his way to make strangers feel welcome and at ease. His light burned bright and his heart was full of joy.
