Obituary of Robert J. Fitzgerald

Passed away on June 30, at age 64 and peacefully left this earth to party with the angels. He will be profoundly missed by his wife of 35 years and best friend, Sharon (Reiche), and his loving children Ciera and Connor. “Fitz” graduated from Timon, Class of 1977, and attended Mercyhurst College. In his youth he was an avid rower and member of the West Side Rowing Club of Buffalo. He went on to be a dedicated employee for UPS for 30 years and made many friends as a driver. He was beloved by the communities on his routes, so much that local businesses displayed signs that read, “We ship UPS with Bob!” He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a fantastic chef and knew his way around a spice rack. He was a good man, wonderful husband, loving father, and a special friend. He was affable, and a welcome guest at any gathering. We will remember his charismatic personality, and the laughs he shared with so many. Along with his wife and children, Bob is survived by his mother, Susanne Fitzgerald, sister Susan Clark (Gary), sister Lynn Fitzgerald and brother James (Sheila) Fitzgerald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:30AM at Our Lady of Victory Basilica.
