To Dear Howie's Family,
My deepest condolences. I worked with Howie in the office of Westinghouse Elevator in the Ellicott Square Building in Buffalo during a construction boom. That was 40 years ago (and for me many miles and hats ago in the elevator industry). Howie was a wonderful human being and a joy to work with, to the point I would not call it "work" -- as caught on camera in this photo taken in the atrium of the Hyatt Buffalo as it was nearing completion. I thought of Howie last evening as my wife Melody and I were watching the Sound of Music, involving 7 children, and decided to search the name of the wonderful man I knew who together with his bride Jeanne well beat that number, to learn that dear Mr. Howard R. Pettys passed away just last week.
