Obituary of Gerald J. Whalen

Beloved husband of the late Helen C. (Healy). Dear father of Margaret (late James) Keane, Judge Gerald (Nora), Timothy (Cindy), Annmarie (Kevin) Kelley, Susan Ellen (James) Kelleher, Casey (Jack) Kelley and the late Raymond “RJ” Whalen. Loving grandfather of 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Dear friend of Lois Holmstrom. Son of the late Gerald A. and Mary (Cleary) Whalen. Brother of Joy (Tom) Powers and the late Margaret “Peggy” (late Raymond) Sullivan and the late Thomas “Whipper” (late Margaret “Peg”) Whalen. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-8 PM at the JAMES W. CANNAN FUNERAL HOME INC. (Southtowns Chapel), 3155 Orchard Park Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 9:30 at Our Lady of Charity Parish (St. Ambrose Worship Site). Please assemble at church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice Buffalo and/or Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Mr. Whalen was a former City of Buffalo Councilman at large.
