Billy, Jerry, Michael and families ..
Uncle Larry, Auntie Susan and you, our American cousins from South Buffalo, have always been such a meaningful and loving part of our lives.
To this day, I tell people the story about your dad leaving everyone in stitches with his "McCayben routine" at McDonald's and elsewhere. Hell, we even lived with each others families for days and weeks during the school year when our moms were in hospitals. Who does that anymore? Sister Michele marvels at it all the time. We were like family. And that bond is lasting.
And Billy, I'm almost ready to let go of the fact you dropped a huge spoiler before we all went to see Star Trek The Motion Picture, by telling us that "VEE-GER is Voyager.." in your little-kid voice. :)
Your father was a source of kindness, strength and support to us all in the Bliss family. The stories from our dads' days at the Courier Express newspaper are legendary. And Uncle Larry's ongoing support and calls to mom in recent years after dad (Uncle Ray) passed away, have been a blessing.
Be proud. Smile often at the memories left for you and your kids to enjoy. And keep telling the stories.
Uncle Larry .. Dad .. Auntie Susan .. would want us to laugh and drink and keep telling all those silly and classic tales.
Minus the odd curse word here and there of course. Heh.
Sending lots of love from Toronto.
Your Canadian cousin,
Paul
