Obituary of Lauren "Laurie" Hayes

Passed away after a brief illness on January 5, 2023, beloved wife of Timothy Hayes, dear mother of Elizabeth (Joshua) Goodman and April (Dr. Raymond) Sroka, adoring grandmother of Thomas, Katherine, Anna, Eleanor, Margaret and James, loving daughter of Ruth (Bull) Smith and the late James Smith, sister of Susan (late Thomas) Pappas, Roberta (Donald) Freedenberg and the late Michelle. Also survived by many close in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 4-8:00pm at the JAMES W. CANNAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3155 Orchard Park Road in Orchard Park, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 11:30am at St. John the XXIII Church at Harlem Road and Arcade Street in West Seneca, (please assemble at church). In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Roswell Park Comprehensive Care Center, Carlton and Elm Street, Buffalo, NY 14263. For 25 years Lauren was a dedicated special education teacher at Bornhava Preschool. She was a Life member of Reserve Hose Ladies Auxiliary, an active participant at the West Seneca Senior Center, and member of the West Seneca Home Bureau. Lauren enjoyed travel, many different craft activities, and laughing with family and friends.
